Lot A - 85 New Permanent Supportive Homes

NBB Lot A is an 85-unit, six story permanent supportive housing community for chronically homeless adults and veterans developed by Insight Housing and Abode Housing Development in partnership with the City of Berkeley and BART. Designed by PYATOK Architects and constructed by J.H. Fitzmaurice, Inc., NBB Lot A will offer studios and 1-bedroom apartments to individuals and households earning 30% of the area's median income. The building will feature on-site property management and resident services, a community room with a commercial kitchen, a secure bike room, and a communal laundry room. The commercial kitchen is designed to support daily meal service and resident programming, including the provision of one free hot meal per day for all residents. 

On-site services will include individualized case management, mental health care, physical health coordination, substance use services grounded in a harm reduction model, employment and job readiness support, financial counseling, and legal assistance. Services for the 50 non-Veteran supportive housing units will be provided in coordination with Alameda County Health. The San Francisco VA Health Care System HUD-VASH program will provide clinical case management and health services to the 35 supportive housing units set aside for veterans. 

The project is expected to begin construction in early 2028.
